In the first part of a new interview, Warren Hudson recalled the lead-up to the Fourth of July boat trip and his friendship with the late 18-year-old
A close friend of Nolan Wells has revealed what he saw in the hours before the 18-year-old student died following a Fourth of July boat trip.
Warren Hudson says he was with one of the last people to see Wells alive before the college football player — who traveled to the island with friends, but did not return with them later in the day — disappeared.
Wells was last seen on Horn Island, a barrier island off the Mississippi Gulf Coast, around 3 p.m. local time on July 4, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. His body was found two days later, and authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
On Tuesday, July 21, Hudson appeared on a podcast with conservative commentator Brandon Tatum, known as The Officer Tatum, to discuss what he saw that day. The clip is just one part of the interview.
Previously, Hudson’s mom, Chancery Court Judge Ashlee Cole — who released a statement last week in which she defended her son and claimed that Wells voluntarily chose to stay on Horn Island — said their family wouldn’t speak publicly and would only talk to investigators or Wells’ family.
