Fortnite Breaks Player Record With 44.7 Million Players in One Day

Post by Mr.T »

Fortnite has announced that it has had its player record broken with 44.7 million players playing the game in a single day.

The team took to Twitter to account that in total, on November 4th, 2023, the game had 44.7 million players and a total of 102 million hours of play. The news comes following a that the game had over 5 million concurrent players on November 3rd.

Taking to Twitter, Fortnite said, “We’re blown away by the response to #FortniteOG. Yesterday was the biggest day in Fortnite’s history with over 44.7 MILLION players jumping in and 102 MILLION hours of play. To all Fortnite players, OG and new, THANK YOU!”

The new season of Fortnite began on November 3rd, and it includes the original map from Chapter 1 along with classic weapons and items.

It doesn’t look like Fortnite will be slowing down anytime soon, either, after the Chapter 5 map leaked online and leakers revealed that Fortnite x LEGO collaboration could include a ‘random terrain generation system’.

While the current record for concurrent players still stands at a massive 12.3 million for the Fortnite x Travis Scott in-game event, the new record for total players throughout the day has once again proved that nostalgia is king.

It’s not something that just Fortnite is capitalizing on either, with Call of Duty’s Modern Warfare 3 bringing back all of the original maps from Modern Warfare 2 (2009) this year.
