Astro Bot may be gearing up for more downloadable content (DLC), including a potential crossover with Tomba, according to an update spotted by an attentive player. This new information was revealed in a recent change to the game's credits, hinting at the possibility of Tomba and other classic characters making their way into the popular platformer.
Astro Bot debuted on September 6 to widespread acclaim, and Team Asobi quickly followed up with a wave of free DLC, including five speedrunning levels. The most recent addition, Astro Bot: Rising Heat, launched on November 14. However, the latest change to the game’s credits suggests that post-launch content may not be over yet.

Reddit user AssanChop noticed that the credits now mention "Tomba Special Edition," a nod to the classic platformer’s recent remaster. Originally released in 1997 as a PlayStation exclusive, Tomba made a comeback with Tomba Special Edition on August 1, available for PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. With the game’s renewed relevance, a crossover with Astro Bot seems increasingly likely.
The mention of Tomba isn’t the only possible crossover teased in the updated credits. Previous updates to Astro Bot’s credits have hinted at future appearances by other iconic characters, such as those from Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade. Additionally, Ubisoft franchises like Assassin's Creed, Beyond Good and Evil, Rayman, as well as Worms and Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, are also referenced, though none of these have appeared in the game yet.
Given that Astro Bot’s past DLC has been free, it’s likely that any new content, including potential crossovers, will follow the same model. With Team Asobi releasing a new speedrunning level every Thursday since October 17, fans can likely expect an official announcement about these exciting new additions soon.
