This news, however, comes at a turbulent time, as Pocketpair, Palworld’s developer, faces a lawsuit from Nintendo over alleged similarities to the Pokémon franchise.
Nintendo claims that Palworld infringes on several of its patents, although Pocketpair has stated they have not yet received clear details on the alleged infringements. In an interview, Pocketpair’s Global Community Manager, John “Bucky” Buckley, discussed the company's rapid growth and its reaction to Nintendo’s legal action. “It’s been an absolute whirlwind," Buckley said, reflecting on how quickly things escalated after the game’s launch.
