Fortnite players using Shuri’s Black Panther Claws are facing a severe glitch that is unexpectedly launching them high into the sky. Although this bug appears to be random, players are expressing their frustration with Epic Games, as this is just the latest issue since the release of Chapter 5 Season 4 on August 16.

In collaboration with Marvel for another superhero-themed season, Fortnite has introduced a variety of new weapons and items inspired by Marvel movies and comics. From Captain America’s Shield to Shuri’s Black Panther Claws, Chapter 5 Season 4, known as Absolute Doom, has significantly altered the game’s meta. Unfortunately, many of these new additions have experienced substantial nerfs since the season's launch, contributing to the growing list of controversies.

In addition to the frequent nerfs and the overpowered weapons belonging to Doctor Doom, players are now encountering this frustrating bug with Shuri’s Black Panther Claws. One Reddit user shared a clip of themselves using the pounce ability, only to be unexpectedly teleported to the top of the island. Fortunately, they didn’t suffer any fall damage upon returning to the ground, but they were out of action for over a minute.

The post quickly resonated with the Fortnite community, as other players shared similar experiences. Reddit user GalickGunn recounted how they experienced the same issue two weeks earlier while playing with their son. In their case, the bug launched them into the sky during a final showdown, but luckily, their son managed to secure the victory royale. Another user, doomsoul909, mentioned encountering the bug while attempting a “claws only” challenge.

This isn’t the first time Fortnite players have faced glitches with Marvel weapons, and it likely won’t be the last. Although the exact cause remains unclear, one Reddit user speculated that server desynchronization might be to blame, suggesting that the server couldn’t pinpoint the player’s position in time and defaulted to setting it to the battle bus spawn location at the start of the game.
