Ghost in the Shell Launches Global Website & Social Media; New Creator Interview & Artwork

by Mr.T » Sun Nov 05, 2023 10:59 pm

A new global website has been launched for the Ghost in the Shell series featuring several avenues of information, including a new illustration of Motoko Kusanagi by Shirow Masamune.

Official Twitter and Instagram accounts were also launched.

A lengthy interview with creator Masamune was released, too, spread across three parts. He delves into the franchise’s vast history, his thoughts on current technology, and more.

The website also contains other menus, including introductions to the various official Ghost in the Shell stories, merchandise, and more.
Ghost in the Shell is a sci-fi manga series by Shirow Masamune that began in the special issue “Young Magazine Pirate Edition” (Kodansha) in 1989. Ghost in the Shell has had multiple adaptations, such as its 1995 anime film directed by Mamoru Oshii, an anime series, and a Hollywood live-action movie.

Occurring during the middle of the 21st century in New Port City, protagonist Motoko Kusanagi is a Major in the cyberterrorist organization Public Security Section 9. The vast progression of technology has made cyber brains possible for humanity, enabling severe danger. Motoko and Section 9 find themselves confronting a criminal seemingly hacking into cyber brains, Puppeteer.
